Hello.

Welcome to my blog in which I document my golfing adventures.

The Links Golfer & Glenmuir

A range of essential clothes made of the highest quality by Glenmuir and bearing The Links Golfer logo is now available for sale.  This means that they are my personal favourites chosen for luxury and comfort in all conditions.  I like to think I am reasonably presentable on the golf course and my wife has very clear views on golfing attire.  This selection has had to pass through the eye of the camel or some such.

Glenmuir have granted me stockist accreditation so that I can offer you competitive prices and donate the net proceeds to Alzheimer’s Society so you can improve your comfort and appearance on the golf course whilst also improving and comforting those burdened with Alzheimer’s.

Shirts

The Kinloch polo shirt is a classic premium cotton golf shirt offered in 12 colours all embellished with my logo.  I wear these all year round as it holds it’s shape yet has enough stretch when I am hacking out of the deepest rough.  My starter at £35.

For an extra £5, the Farrer gives you long sleeves when a jersey isn’t quite required or as a winter base layer.  £40

As a more flamboyant option, (we are not talking John Daly) there is the double mercerised, seven colour options, striped Larkin shirt.  The mercerising process strengthens the thread and adds a sleeker sheen and texture.  Yours for £55

Jerseys

You are never far from a jersey on a seaside links.  And as an insurance all come with a quarter length zip to adjust the body temperature or protect the neck muscles.  These cover all your requirements and can be safely worn off the course

Light summer airs can end up nipping at your back muscles  down the closing stretch so I have the cotton Devon sweater/jersey as my starter piece at £60. For the inbetweeners there is the Stanley sleeveless version too. This never leaves my bag in Spring and autumn. And as a less cumbersome secondary layer on a frosty morning.

Jasper is the all rounder, 100% Merino.  It really can be worn all year round.  It feels glorious, looks great and is somehow temperature responsive.  Like a magic wedge it will get you out of all sorts of trouble while still looking cool. £90

I include the Wessex because it just feels so damn good and the 10% cashmere mix makes it a little snugger and makes even my swing look elegant.  Excellent value at only £10 more £100

Lastly the windproof Cromwell.  Inside as no nonsense as a New Army sergeant but as smart as a Cavalier on the outside.   This is a rescue club that doubles up as a Texas wedge and putts for dough. Windproof and fashion proof; winter foursomes at Rye or Cowes week.  £100 covers everything.

Jackets

Never weather beaten” is Sunderland’s motto so I offer two of their jackets:

The Whisperdry doesn’t shout about it’s virtues but lives up to it’s name and is chosen for it’s suitability 365 days a year; compact and lightweight it should never leave your bag. Some jackets sound like an Aussie rubbing a cricket ball with sandpaper. This one is as silky as Jardine’s shirt. Unlike Jardine’s shirt this it has water proof zips and seams and can take anything that is thrown at you. I haven’t found better. The pollinators knees. £150

The Quebec has an added liner to give you guaranteed warmth when you just know it is going to be brutal and you know that you will only take it off when you return for a hot shower £130

Black or Navy waterproof trousers can be arranged to complete the outfit.

Need to know

My apologies for not including Ladies items but I will spare you the image of me trying any of it out though I can vouch for the quality.  I can arrange for items in their range to be made available under separate order but please contact me directly charles@thelinksgolfer.com.

All items are further brought to life by the inclusion of the Links Golfer logo.

You can view all Glenmuir items online.  If there are other items you would like I can request them but please contact me by email charles@thelinksgolfer.com.

Sizes: I cannot improve on their sizing charts so please check your measurments here.

I am afraid that I cannot accept returns if the size does not fit or accept returns for any reason other than those acceptable to Glenmuir.  However I will endeavour to resell any item and, in due course, reimburse whatever moneys are paid to me.

Orders of single items maybe charged a stocking fee if they cannot be bundled with other orders so please let me know if you have a deadline to catch such as your own birthday.  Order times should be regarded as ten working days though we intend to improve on that everytime

Postage will be calculated per order, generally £4 first class for single items in the UK, and an extra charge will be made where necessary as additional costs detract from your donation to Alzheimer’s Society.

Apart from the cost of the garments and postage the only expenses deducted from your order are for packing and Paypal or other transaction fees.  £1 would normally cover these expenses but if you would like to add a further donation this can be added to your order.  To avoid these transaction expenses you can pay into The Links Golfer by bank transfer.
